Good examples for how to do: Close reading
The following shows two good examples of close reading from student response papers. When referencing a text provide author name, source name and year (Hitler, Letter to Gemlich, 1919) as well as a reference to the page number (in this case you can refer to the second page of the letter or to page 7 as indicated in the course PDF). When referencing a film provide a reference for hours and minutes as is done in the second excerpt below. Or as follows: (Hippler, Der Ewige Jude, 1940, minutes 17:05)
